Sunday Schools

College Avenue UMC offers Sunday School classes for all ages beginning at 9:15am on Sundays. 
 


Children's Classes:

Toddlers

  • Emphasizes loving and sharing.  If they can toddle over and show interest, they can attend.  Up to 3 years of age.

Ages 3-5:

  • Emphasizes our love and God's love for children and how they can receive and show love for others.

Elementary:

  • Using the Rotational model, children in grades 1-6 learn the sacred stories through song, storytelling, art, drama, video, computer, and games while learning Christian values in order to be a faithful Christian example and witness.

Youth - Grades 7-12:

  • Emphasizes application of Christian teachings, learning God's plan for creation, keeping God first in lives, and showing respect for self and others.
     

  • Our Youth Group is a friendship and fellowship group that emphasizes fun, character development, and mission.  The group meets on Sunday evenings from 6-7:30, and has special events throughout the year.  Visit the Youth Group web page here.

Adult Classes:

Hot Topics

  • Young singles and couples discussing hot topics and how God calls us to respond.

Faith Seekers

  • Finding application for Christian teaching in today's world.

Left of Center

  • Book discussion group that wrestles with theological issues.  A safe place to wonder and raise questions.

Genesis to Revelation

  • A Bible study group desiring to build faith and Bible literacy while caring for each other.

Open Door Class

  • Emphasizes building a loving, caring group, learning God's plan for the world through book and Bible study.

Community Forums

  • As the world changes, certain issues like violence in the schools and creationism vs. evolution prompt short-term courses.  Topics and dates are announced.
